Custom order terms

A custom piece is made for one person, to a design agreed with them. These terms apply to every custom order, together with our shipping policy and refund policy.

1. Your quote

Before you pay anything, we confirm your order in writing: the stone's shape, carat weight, color, clarity and IGI report, the metal, the ring size or length, the setting, the price and the estimated ship date. Please check it carefully. It is the specification we make your piece to.

2. Deposit

A deposit of 50% of the price reserves your diamond and starts the design. We send you a personal invoice to pay it. The invoice is for you alone; please do not share it.

3. Design approval

We send you a CAD rendering within three business days of your deposit. Two rounds of changes are included. We begin making your piece only when you approve the design in writing, by replying to our email or message.

4. Making and checking

Making your piece takes one to two weeks from your approval. Once it ships, delivery within the United States usually takes three to seven days. Before it leaves us, we send you photographs and a video of the finished piece and of the laser inscription on its diamond.

5. Balance

The balance is due before your piece ships, and we send you a second invoice for it. If it has not been paid within 60 days of our telling you your piece is ready, and we have reminded you at least twice, we may cancel the order and keep from your deposit the costs we have already incurred, refunding anything left.

6. Canceling

  • Before we reserve your diamond or begin your CAD rendering: a full refund.
  • After that, until you approve the design: a refund less 10% of the order price, for the design work and stone reservation.
  • After you approve the design: your deposit is non-refundable, as your diamond has been set aside and work has begun.
  • Once your piece is finished: the order can no longer be canceled.

If we miss the ship date we gave you, you may cancel at any stage for a full refund of everything you have paid.

7. Changes after approval

We will do our best to accommodate changes after you have approved the design. Where a change means remaking any part of the piece or a different stone, we quote the difference before we begin.

8. Returns

Because it is made to your specification, a custom piece cannot be returned or exchanged for a change of mind. If it arrives damaged, or differs noticeably from the design and specification you approved, write to us within 7 days of delivery and we will repair it, remake it or refund it, at no cost to you.

9. Resizing, warranty and shipping

Custom pieces are made to the size you confirm, and free resizing is not included. If you need a custom ring resized, we will tell you whether the design allows it and quote the work before we begin. Custom pieces carry our one-year limited warranty, and ship free, fully insured and signed for, whatever their price.
